Avoid the headache my friend went through and book your vacation with a company that values good customer service. Delat Vacations seems to lack in training and leads to a bad experience.

Delta Vacations may have great prices, but their customer service is unfortunately not up to par. Work with a company that will go above and beyond to make sure your trip goes smoothly. We know you deserve it!

Unfortunately, as my friend found out the hard way, not all companies are created equal. She had flown Delta Vacations before and had a so-so experience, but in comparison to AAA and American Express Vacations, she decided to book her most recent trip through them. However, when she arrived at the airport yesterday, she was met with less-than-friendly customer service and ended up missing her flight.

Why Rudy Discusses It

Delta Vacations customers are not being taken care of properly, which is causing them to miss flights and incur other costs.

This lack of customer service causes frustration for customers who have planned their trips carefully.

We believe that Delta Vacations should be a worry-free experience, but that surely was not the case. What happened to make sure your trip goes smoothly as a passenger? Customers are consistently finding themselves dealing with unprofessional customer service and check-in procedures.

I hope Delta Vacations invests in better customer service training and procedures that make the check-in process easier for customers.

Here's the Story

Geo and her sister, Jessie, were both filled with excitement as they arrived at the airport over an hour early for their first international Delta flight yesterday. The getaway was booked with Delta Vacations, they had planned this birthday trip for Jessie to give her a few days of peace.

Geo, excited to take her younger sister on a much-needed vacation was ready! Geo being a Sky Priority member was expecting smooth sailing throughout the process. Upon asking the customer service if Sky Priority could be used internationally, she stated no and directed them to a longer line. Nice way to treat a first time international Sky Priority member right? But that wasn't all what happened.

When they arrived at the check-in desk, things did not go as planned. The attendant seemed completely unfamiliar with the procedure for checking in a passenger and spent an eternity trying to figure out what barcode she needed from them before she could finish processing their flight information. Ego tried the night before at home, but the system directed her to check in upon arrival.

By the time the Delta customer service representative finally got it done, Ego realized that she and Jessie had missed their flight due to her ineptitude—a situation that caused both sisters great distress considering all of their previous planning efforts (not to mention Geo's expense).

Eventually, Geo was able to rebook them on another international flight bound for Punta Cana for today. She was assured by Delta, don't worry about changing your returning flight. There won't be a cost associated with the changes.

That wasn't the case. Upon arriving in Punta Cana today, the Delta Vacations horrors continued. She wasn't able to call Delta Vacations internationally, let alone change her ticket without incurring additional fees—which turned out costly once everything was said and done. Where is the accountability? Who is at fault here?

Flying out of the country was causing even more headaches and stress than before!

This lack of consistency from Delta vacations left Ego feeling frustrated and skeptical about booking through them in the future- if she could save a few dollars by flying Delta Vacations but then have such terrible customer service and training issues?

This experience has taught her one thing: when it comes down to saving money by flying Delta Vacations versus paying extra for convenience elsewhere; she'd rather pay more if it meant avoiding similar situations in future travels!

How to Avoid Travel Mishaps with Good Customer Service

Delta Vacations has a responsibility to offer premier customer service at all times. Unfortunately, it appears they have failed in this endeavor as complaints are being raised by customers. Filing a complaint is no fun and most people would rather not have to do so; however, when Delta Vacations cannot meet basic customer service standards, keeping silent is simply enabling their lack of accountability. If we do not speak up and share our experiences with Delta Vacations, there's a risk the same will happen to others in the future. It is time to hold Delta Vacations accountable and ensure all customers can get the variety of options and quality customer service that Delta promises.

Do Your Research

Before booking your trip, take some time to read reviews of both the company you're planning on using and the destination itself. That way, you can get a better idea of what to expect and be prepared for any potential problems that might come up. If you're seeing a lot of negative reviews about a company's customer service, it might be best to steer clear and look for another option.

Be Prepared

When it comes time to book your trip, make sure you have all of your ducks in a row. Have your passport ready and double-check the dates of your travel. Once everything is booked, save all of your confirmation emails and numbers in one place so you can access them easily if anything goes wrong.

Know Your Rights

If despite your best efforts something does go wrong on your trip, it's important to know what your rights are as a consumer. For example, did you know that if your flight is delayed more than three hours or canceled entirely, you're entitled to compensation from the airline? Knowing what kind of recourse you have can help alleviate some of the stress that comes along with travel mishaps.

Know How to File Complaints

Delta Vacations is a travel company that puts customers in unfair situations and gets away with it. It's clear their customer service and training are lacking, which is why it's so important to file complaints whenever something unacceptable happens. These types of situations don't always get resolved on their own, but filing complaints makes it more likely Delta Vacations will start to value customer experience and treat travelers fairly. Know how to file complaints; don't be afraid to stand up for yourself so change can take place and future Delta Vacationers won't have to suffer through similar experiences!
